HBCU Leadership Summit

Privacy Policy

What we collect when you register for the Summit, why we collect it, and what we do not do with it.

Last updated October 11, 2026

Who we are

The HBCU Leadership Summit is organized by PEIQ. When this policy says "we" or "us," it means PEIQ acting as the organizer of the Summit. You can reach us at [email protected].

What we collect

Almost everything we hold about you is information you typed into the registration form yourself:

  • Your name, job title, institution or organization, and institution type.
  • Your work email address, and your mobile number if you choose to give it.
  • The topics you tell us you are interested in, and whether you want hotel room block details.
  • Any dietary or accessibility needs you share with us.
  • How you heard about the Summit.

We also collect ordinary technical information when you visit this website, such as your browser type, the pages you viewed, and approximate location derived from your IP address. We use that to understand which parts of the site are working, not to identify you.

Why we collect it

  • To register you, confirm your seat, and send you your event pass.
  • To plan the Summit itself: headcount, seating, catering, and accessibility arrangements.
  • To send you the agenda, panel announcements, venue details, and travel information before the event.
  • To follow up after the Summit with materials and information about future events. You can stop these at any time.

Who we share it with

We share your information with the service providers who make the event run, and only to the extent they need it. That includes our registration and email platform, and the venue, for building access, catering counts and accessibility arrangements.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not rent it, and we do not hand your contact details to sponsors or partners so they can market to you. If a partner ever wants to contact attendees directly, we will ask you first and you can say no without losing your seat.

We may share aggregate, non-identifying figures with partners and sponsors, for example the number of institutions represented or the mix of roles in the room.

We may also disclose information where we are legally required to, or where it is necessary to protect the safety of attendees or staff.

Email and texts

When you register you agree to receive emails about the Summit. Every email we send has an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing does not cancel your registration. If you gave us a mobile number, we may text you on the day of the event about logistics such as room changes. Reply STOP to any text to opt out.

How long we keep it

We keep registration records for as long as we run the Summit, so we can recognize returning attendees and avoid asking you the same questions every year. If you ask us to delete your information, we will, except where we need to keep a record for accounting or legal reasons.

Your choices

Write to [email protected] and we will, within a reasonable time, tell you what we hold about you, correct anything that is wrong, delete your record, or stop contacting you. You do not need to give a reason. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under state or national privacy law, and we will honor those.

Cookies

This site uses cookies and similar technologies to keep the site working and to measure traffic. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The site will still work, though some things may be less convenient.

Children

The Summit is a professional event for university leadership. This site is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle your information in a way that matters, we will update this page and change the date at the top. If the change is significant and we have your email address, we will tell you directly.
